Welcome To York Sub-Aqua Club

York Sub Aqua Club is a member of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC).  BSAC are the UK's leading dive club and the Sports National Governing Body; all of the individual clubs around the world provide internationally recognised diver training and development.

York Sub Aqua Club currently has around 40 members who are all at varying stages of their training from trainees through to Advanced Divers.

We use the pool at Archbishops Holgate School for training and development of skill and also share the club house at New Earswick Sports and Social Club where we meet weekly on a Tuesday evening.  Its a great place to just sit down to discuss dive events, sort out training or simply relax with friends over a drink.  York Sub Aqua Club has its own compressor and Nitrox facility which is available to all its members, this is a really big advantage for our members, particularly the brand new Nitrox facility.

We are a Sports Club not a commercial operation, therefore we don't make any profit from our members. There is an annual fee to join our club which does give you free access to all our facilities including training. Having members who have qualified as instructors is a great asset to any club and we have a broad spectrum of qualified divers and instructors; we give training to all our members following the strict BSAC guidelines.  York Sub Aqua Club has been training its members for over 50 years now, some of our founder members from 50 years ago still turn up to the club on a Tuesday evening. They hung up their Scuba Kit a while ago but have some fabulous stories to tell and we think its a real acheivement that our members have stayed with us all these years.

We at York Sub Aqua Club are a busy club, we dive as often as possible and that could be almost anywhere in the UK or worldwide. We regularly dive on the East Coast out of Bridlington Bay, the Berwickshire Coastline on the East Cost of Scotland and the Sound of Mull on the West Coast of Scotland but there are lots of trips further afield being organised as we speak to exotic places such as Truk Lagoon and Palau.  We dive from hard boats, RIBs or the shore and try to organise as varied a set of trips for our members as possible so everyone can be included; there is something for everyone.

York Sub Aqua Club would welcome trainee's for Ocean Diver and qualified divers alike.  There are lots of divers who have dived abroad on holiday and achieved a qualification with other agencies, we welcome you too. We have a crossover system and recognise your qualification within the BSAC organisation.

If you are interested in coming along for a Try Dive or refresher course or simply want to be a part of our club just to continue your diving career and make use of our facilies please do get in touch with us using the Contact Us link above.
