Accomodation
Whitby Backpackers. Harbour Grange. Large Comfortable accomodation, close to pubs and towns. We have used this place for large numbers when running a boat handling course.

YSAC have used Ambleside Backpackers before and Gary says it is a lovely place (see our Lake District diving) The Kitchen is commercial grade and the sleeping is good. The hostel is handy for local pubs and restaurants.

YHA at Wastwater. Very easy for Wastwater

FARNES: We normally have quite a few members diving at the Farne Islands during the summer months. Most of us use the Caravan and Camping site at Beadnell Bay. This is handy for both Beadnell and Seahouses, and they allow us to park the RIBs there too. It does however open rather late in the season these days, and you must be a guest of a member of the Camping and Caravaning Club (Most of the club boat owners are members, so this is not usually a problem)

FARNES: The camp site at Waren Mill is a commercially run site, the main company being non local. You must booke early for this well managed site. There is a site bar and restaurant, which can be a bit noisy. Especially during Newcastle United fooball matches. Not too convenient if you want to walk to near by pubs. Cheap though.

FARNES: The Budle Bay campsite is privately owned site. Run by a local family. It is very much a family site and children are very apparent on this site. Normally if you cant get on anywhere then they well find a space for you. They take RIB's but due to space limitations, they are sometimes left in those difficult to get out places. As far as we are aware you can't book slots on this site, you just have to turn up early. There is an on site shack selling burgers and stuff.

CLYDE/AYRESHIRE: Whittlieburn farm is mainly a Bed and Breakfast but also has space for tents and motorhomes. In2003 the club ran a trip to Largs and everyone stayed here. We had 2 tents, an motorhome, and a number of folk staying in the Bed and breakfast. The site is situated in a sheltered valley. Lies a couple of miles out of Largs.
